Returning to teaching in schools this week, the kids were buzzing about the latest Spiderman film, which many had watched during the festive break.

So motivated by their enthusiasm here are some Spiderman-inspired fitness, dance, movement ideas.

Spiderman Tag .

The players are only allowed to move around on their hands and feet in a prone position bum in the air! , to look like a Spider.  One player is “on it  “, moving around the space tagging the other players. When caught the players have to return to the web  ( an area of the room /mat /bench ) until there is one player remaining

Spider web shape creation.

Get the kids to create the shape of a Spider web as a group, using their legs and arms in different positions. Encourage their creativity of this by adding different body positions, height, and sizes of the spider web

Spider web step through.

In standing positions get the kids to create shapes with their arms and legs, making gaps between their limbs/bodies. The aim of this activity is another child has to try and step through, over, under, the other children’s body shapes, without touching them, ie the web.

Spider themed Dance Sequence

Get the kids to use descriptive words about Spiderman, other characters from the films, and actions. For example  Spiderman Leaps, Spiderman crouch, Jumps, and Rolls. And most importantly the famous Spiderman hand position, so that the web can be shot from! Remember this is a creative Dance activity so all the moves must be performed with timing.  Encourage the use of Dance motif essentials ie , Start position, directional travel, imagery, and levels.

SpiderMan Fitness Circuit.

Use any equipment available to you to create a circuit that can be jumped over, through, around, and under
